Coach Harbaugh Leaving Michigan After Winning Championship?!

Swifties experience NFL playoff anxiety and 5th grade basketball players experience fan heckling.

1. Chargers Hire College Football’s Finest

America’s quirkiest football coach is headed back to the NFL to coach the LA Chargers. After reaching a Super Bowl with the 49ers in 2013, Jim Harbaugh left for Ann Arbor to revive his alma mater’s struggling program, leading Michigan to a National Championship. Now he’s ready for a push at NFL glory, inheriting one of football’s most exciting young quarterbacks, Justin Herbert.

Known for his off-field antics as much as his coaching, Harbaugh is a one-of-a-kind hire. Chargers fans have needed a savior to believe in, and hopefully Harbs can be him.

2. Bills Kicker Receives “Pawsitive” Support

Bills kicker Tyler Bass missed a 44-yard field goal to end their season in a 27-24 loss to the Chiefs. Shortly after the game, Bass deleted his social media after receiving overwhelming hate.

Fans responded by donating over $270,000 to Bass’ favorite charity, a cat adoption charity named the Ten Lives Club. In what is a devastating time for Bass, this story of kindness is, to us, what sports are all about.

3. Australian Open Semifinal Intrigue

The first top player of the tournament goes down, as #2 ranked player Carlos Alcaraz fell 3 sets to 1 to rising star and #6 Alexander Zverev. The semifinal stage is set, as Zverev is set to match up with #3 Daniil Medvedev, and #1 Novak Djokovic looks to continue his dominant tournament against #4 Jannik Sinner.

On the women’s side, young American star Coco Gauff is set on knocking off #2 Aryna Sabalenka. Last September, Gauff beat Sabalenka to win her first Grand Slam, and this match up looks to be one of the most anticipated of the tournament. With no one emerging to take Serena’s crown as the world’s best player, Coco and Aryna are both looking forward to a chance to make a statement Thursday night.

4. WWE is Coming to Netflix?

In a shocking announcement, Netflix is officially entering live sports, purchasing the rights to WWE for $5 billion. The 10-year partnership will put Raw on all streaming platforms in North America and the UK, and exclusively telecast major pay-per-view events such as WrestleMania and Royal Rumble globally.

Netflix has been creeping into the sports media world, with the success of F1 series Drive to Survive. Now the media giant looks to stake its claim on the broadcasting arms race creating so much buzz in sports.

5. Embiid Reminds Wemby He’s Not That Guy

The Scoop: 7’0” Joel Embiid looked perplexed in pregame warm ups standing next to Wembanyama, who stands 4 inches taller. Rarely has Embiid ever had to play someone that much taller than him. How did he respond? Scored 70 points. The Spurs had absolutely no answer, as Embiid dominated their young superstar, earning a water bath from his teammates.
